Start out the last month of the year strong so you can start the new year even stronger. It’s the two of us giving tips for each day of our 5 day challenge! It sounds simple to save more money and spend less and we show you how it can be – if you break it down one day at a time.

Daily Challenge

Day 1 – Save More – Find a FDIC insured bank with a high APY. Automate the amount you’re saving each paycheck.

Day 2 – Make More – Sell unwanted goods, possibly on Poshmark, Ebay, The Real Real, Let Go. Sell unwanted textbooks, books, dvd’s and cd’s to universities, Half Price Books and on Amazon. Check out service based apps to make extra money. Some are Uber, Lyft, Postmates, Wag and Care.com. Negotiate a higher salary.

Day 3 – Spend Less – Set aside a certain number of days a month as “No Spend Days” and track them on the free Habit Share app. Track your subscriptions. Sign up for AskTrim.com to organize all of your monthly expenses so it’s easy to see. They also help negotiate utility bills too.

Day 4 – Give More – Donate the items you don’t need. Give your time to help out a nonprofit that aligns with your values. Give more joy! Giving compliments and spreading kindness are both free and bring joy to the giver as much as the receiver.

Day 5 – Enjoy More – Find things that bring joy to your life that don’t cost money. Go for a hike, read a book, picnic in the park and spend time with family and friends.
